Feature

Badge printing that identifies at a glance.

A badge has one job: let anyone on site tell, from across a room, who a person is, who they are here for, and whether they should be where they are. BeckonDesk prints that badge in seconds, on hardware you can buy anywhere.

What prints

Everything a badge needs, nothing it does not.

  • Name, company, host, date. The four facts security and staff actually check. Large type, readable at distance.
  • Photo where policy allows. Captured at the kiosk at sign-in, printed on the badge, stored on the visit record. No biometric templates, just a photo.
  • Colour-coded category. Visitor, contractor, delivery, VIP: each category prints with its own band so a hi-vis contractor badge cannot be confused with a lobby visitor badge.
  • Escort-required mark. Categories or zones that require an escort print with an unmissable marker, so an unescorted person with that badge is visibly out of policy.
  • Validity window. Single-visit badges show the date; multi-day contractor badges show the range, and the record expires access when the range does.

Hardware

Standard printers, standard labels.

BeckonDesk prints to standard thermal label printers over the network. No proprietary kiosk hardware, no proprietary badge stock, no per-badge fee. A busy reception replaces a roll of labels, not a cartridge subscription. If your printer dies on a Monday morning, the replacement is same-day from any office supplier, and sign-in keeps working while badges queue.

  • Prints in about two seconds from sign-in completion or QR fast-lane scan.
  • Multiple printers per site. Each entrance prints locally; the record is one list.
  • Reprint with control. Lost badge reprints are logged and the original is voided, so two copies of one identity cannot both be live.
