Visitor and contractor management for manufacturing sites.
Three shifts a day, contractors in every trade, deliveries on the hour, and a fire-safety officer who needs a real muster list. BeckonDesk was built for the multi-shift factory where a paper visitor book falls apart by lunchtime.
What manufacturing sites need
Standard visitor tools were built for offices. Yours isn't one.
- Contractor PPE and cert checks at the gate. No CSCS, no ECS, no forklift cert? Sign-in stops until documents are current.
- Delivery driver flow. Separate check-in path for HGVs: yard bay assignment, driver ID capture, load ticket printing.
- Zone-based evacuation. Marshals at each muster point see only their zone. No 200-name scroll on a phone.
- Sanctions screening on every visitor. Defence supply chain, dual-use goods, ITAR-adjacent work? Screening on every entry is table stakes.
- Photo-restriction acknowledgement. Site-specific NDA and no-camera acceptance recorded per visit, per person.
A typical day, on BeckonDesk
One kiosk. Every trade. Every shift.
05:30 shift changeover, first contractor firm arrives for a scheduled maintenance window, their two engineers scan their pre-registered QR and their expiring insurance blocks entry until they upload the renewal on device. 08:15 a defence customer's engineer arrives, sanctions screening passes, badge prints, host notified in Teams. 10:00 a delivery driver signs in at the goods entrance kiosk, bay 3 assigned, unload ticket printed. 14:47 a fire alarm sounds, every marshal opens the phone app and sees the 74 people currently on site, filtered by muster point. All accounted for in seven minutes. One system.
